A message for potential applicants to the Rotman finance PhD program:

Thank you for your interest in completing a PhD in finance, possibly under my supervision, at the Rotman School of Management.

Unlike some programs, faculty members do not admit prospective students directly into the Rotman finance PhD program. Instead, interested candidates must apply centrally through the Rotman School's PhD program office. We typically receive far more applications to the finance PhD program each year than we have available spaces in the program, so the admissions process is very competitive.

Because of my time-consuming research, service, and teaching commitments at the university, I am not able to review individual applicants' research proposals in advance or help with the application process. The Rotman PhD program office has resources available to guide prospective doctoral students through the application process. Please refer to their website: https://www.rotman.utoronto.ca/degrees/phd

If you end up applying and getting accepted to the program, we will surely have the opportunity to discuss your research, and I will look forward to that. I sincerely wish you the very best with your continued studies wherever you may end up.
